The
Prisoner TV Series
The
prisoner 2009
One
of the most inspiring
piece of television series "The
Prisoner" will me
broadcasting its Prisoner
remake soon. The
prisoner
episodes addresses issues such as
personal identity and various issues that plague our modern
society while still being a cutting edge drama series.
The original Prisoner series is about a top secret agent in the British
Government who resigns and take the vacation he always
wanted. While packing he was drugged and taken to a visually stunning
but deadly compound known as "The
Village".
At the village the
prisoners are Numbered while kept captive for life if they
don't tell No. 2 (the head deputy ) the information the
village
need from the prisoners. Escape is nearly impossible as "The Village"
has the most high tech weapons to use if anybody tries to escape. The
protagonist receives the code
name of "No. 6" but he choose the name of "The
Prisoner" for himself. The
series unfolds the various attempts to
resist the plots of each head deputy to get his information.
I have been a fan of THE PRISONER for a very long time. I must
say, I was beyond skeptical about this new prisoner
mini-series.However, 20 mins
have passed since i first sat down in
front of the series I am not exaggerating when I say that I was
immediately drawn into the series. Its true that this isn't
the exact series I watched in my family room. The key idea here is that
this is not consider to be a
re-make,
it's a re-imagining of the
series. The core issues that the original examined are still alive. I
just had to let go of the original actors and scenes while watching
this re-imagined series. Without a doubt, I know I
will be eating popcorns to the rest of THE PRISONER Episodes.
The most significant difference between The prisoner now and then is
the protagonist's profession, and the world he is trapped in
because of it. Originally "N0.6" was a spy, in a Cold War world. In the
new mini series he is a tracker of consumers. He tries to
escape the
corporation he works for and is trapped in a prison of global
marketing. Sounds crazy but it is wonderfully and provactively put
together.
